Germantown Sampler c.1870s
This sampler is a quality Navajo textile woven in the legendary "Germantown" yarn of the 1870s. Samplers were popular because they were inexpensive, easy to pack and didn't break. This vivid red beauty is beautifully woven, expertly. A high thread count, consistent weaving. A few mite bites deter the perfection, shown in photos, but the sampler is otherwise spectacular and sound. Measures just under 21" x 21" . . . c'mon, you know you want it . . .
