Vintage Navajo Concho
Museum deaccession - Large Conchos and buckle dominate this historic 1930s belt. Some pretty fantastic silver work on each of the six conchos and large buckle. The restrained design fields are classic Navajo . . . their sense of reserve in the face of powerful stampwork is a study in patience, the Dine' way of life. Bright and vivid Blue Gem turquoise triangles, again restrained. Buckle measures 4" X 3". Conchos are 3.75" x 3.5". Leather backs, refreshed circa 1960's. Masterful . . . c'mon, you know you want it.
