Roper by Wakefield
A Wakefield classic, c.2001. The "Roper" is among Cecil's bread and butter creations, this one of his smaller figures, about six inch size, 7" total. In his later years, Wakefield dedicated his free time to helping and teaching his whittlin' buddies all over the world, sharing templates and whittling techniques. Cecil penned many articles outlining "how" he did his work . . . never-the-less, the only carver to approach Cecil's astronomical skill set has been his son, Bob, who is passing the tradition to his own son. The apple doesn't fall far from even the tallest trees! . . . you know you want it.
